My Maximum Hydration Method Experience

There has been some buzz in the natural hair community about a new "method" or regimen that promises to transform low porosity dry 4C hair into hydrated, easier to manage hair without the frizz. Now I am high porosity 4A but I do have issues with dryness from time to time so I decided to look into this method. I read about it on various blog sites such as and and completely dismissed it as it is a very tedious process. I will not go over every detail of the routine here but if you would like to do your own research on it you may do so by visiting the website here: Max Hydration Method

Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration line Review

Happy Autumn! It's that time of year again where you may or may not need to tweak your hair regimen. If you've been following me on Instagram (@BesosFeron) you know I have been doing some experimenting with different products, methods, and regimens. About a month ago, I was on a mission to find either the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil line or the Manuka Honey line. Alas, I went to every CVS in my area and they were either sold out or didn't carry it so luckily my local Target had the Manuka Honey line. This line promotes itself as being a dry hair recipe and typically in the cooler months, preventing dry hair is of the utmost importance to naturals.

The three advertised ingredients are specifically for preventing moisture loss and hydrating the hair. As stated by the brand: Manuka Honey has anti-inflammatory properties to sooth the scalp and helps create moisturizing barrier; Mafura Oil has high levels of beneficial oleic acid to help replenish oils stripped from the hair; and African Rock Fig contains antioxidant vitamin C which helps to keep the hair looking vibrant. Now that sounds like the perfect recipe for a cold weather product line! I have used the entire line and I must say I was impressed with some of the line. Here's my review and results of how it worked for me.

mINe Cosmetics Lipstick Review

I am so happy and honored to have been given the opportunity to review mINe Cosmetics lipstick line. The first collection is so new, it was just launched in June 2014. On a side note, this is my 100th blog post yay!!! So, what better way to make it extra special than to switch things up and review a lipstick line that is made in the USA, talc, paraben and cruelty free which I know makes many naturals happy, especially me! Not to mention bold lips are the perfect compliment to big, bold, natural hair and transform any outfit from plain to wow!

My DNA product review

Ahhh it's been a while... life can get pretty crazy. I recently lost my uncle and just went on a hiatus from blogging, social media, everything. We all grieve differently and I just became very distant and kept to myself but enough about that I am here to share my oh so traumatic experience with you all from using some of the My DNA product line! *Disclaimer* although these products did not work for me, they may work for you. All I can do is give you my honest truth and help you be an informed consumer.

April 26-27 was the World Natural hair show in Atlanta, GA and I attended both days. Blog of my haul/experience is in the works :) While I was there, I watched a demonstration being done by My DNA and they had a special where you could purchase their entire product line for $30. If you review the Co-wash, you just give them a call and share your thoughts and they will send you a check for $15 so I was like hey that's a deal. I haven't called yet so I can't say if that is legit or not the hours are funny and I'm at work when they are open. The deal was so great, I didn't ask any questions about ingredients nor did I read them I just figured they had to be up to the typical standards most naturals look for in products... oh my was I wrong!!!! These products maybe "made" or "intended" to style natural hair but they are the furtherest thing from being natural! If you log onto their website, no ingredients are listed?!? Now that's sketchy. So, without reading the ingredients or anything I proceeded to style my hair in a braid out. I didn't style it on freshly washed hair so that could have had an affect on the reaction I had but I doubt it. The following will be a brief overview of each product, how I used them and my thoughts.

CRN Almond Jai Twisting Butter Review

Hello ladies!!! I am so excited to finally share my experience with you all on the Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter! I have seen and heard great things about this product but you all know me I am anti hype and have become stubborn with what new products I purchase. Having had a great experience with the CRN deep conditioner, I decided to explore more of the line and picked this up at Target. This will be a short review as the pictures speak for themselves so as usual I will begin with the product specifics.

World Natural Hair Show 2014 Prep & Discount Code

The time has come... less than a month and counting until the 17th Annual World Natural Hair Show held April 26-27th. I went to my first WNHS last year and I was not as prepared as I thought I was. I have put together a short list of things that I think will help you all prepare for the show if this will be your first time attending or if you're just interested in hearing what I'll be doing to ready myself!! Yes you heard me it's that serious! Never come between a product junkie and her potential items to add to her stash ;)  I also included a discount code I found on Youtube so make sure to use it when purchasing your ticket!

NaturaLee Hair Care Twisting Butter Review

Happy first day of Spring and International Happiness Day!!! While I've been absent, I have been experimenting and testing out new products. Next month on April 15 I will be 2 1/2 years natural! I'm no veteran yet but do feel I have learned Zoe (my hair) well enough to make smart buys versus blind purchases hoping something will work for me. The product I am reviewing today is the NaturaLee Hair Care Macadamia Seed Twisting Butter. I ordered this sometime last year and am just now reviewing it. To continue to give the most detailed reviews I can, I have been using and testing out several products multiple times and in different ways. This does take some time but I have started a rotation so hopefully there won't be such a long gap between blog posts.

Camille Rose Naturals Deep Conditioner Review

When it comes to deep conditioning my hair, I am very critical of the product. The 3 products in my regimen that I am never satisfied with and am on a never ending search for the best are: deep conditioners, leave-in conditioners, and stylers such as puddings and twisting butters. I do have my favorites in these categories but I always have a nagging feeling that there is something better out there which is why I have a rather 'large' collection of products. Today I am reviewing the Camille Rose Naturals Algae Renew Deep Conditioner. This is not a new brand or product but it is new to me and the first of the Camille Rose line I decided to try. This deep conditioner can be purchased at Target or ordered online.

2013 Black Friday Haul

I don't think I did that bad… I really don't! It only seems like a lot! Ha, spoken like a true product junkie. I hope to begin reviewing all of the these products for you all very soon! I am happy to say that the majority of the items I purchased were because I liked the ingredients or the potential benefits of the hair/skin from using the products. You'll also notice I went HAM on deep conditioners and restoring products. My main concerns for my hair for 2014 are strengthening and length retention. Here is my haul and some of the items I've already started using some of the items. If you have a request or question for a certain product, leave a comment below and I'll bump it up on my try me list if I haven't already tested it out.

2014 Hair Goals & Breaking the Rules

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Wow, I am so late, January is almost over but I have gone through a major transition. Briefly, where have I been!? Well, I moved to Atlanta, Ga for a job which I started on January 6! It was hard my first week adjusting to the new time zone and schedule of being up at 6 and *awake* all day with no nap lol. After my first week of work, I became really sick and had to miss work! I am happy to say I am feeling much better but am still hoarse. And if you all have been watching the news you all know a winter storm came through the south so I have been snowed in at home since Tuesday. I was lucky to only have a 2 hour commute in my car but others have not been so lucky so please keep them in your prayers and hope the cities with the most hardships have learned from this!
