Miss Jessie's Book Tour Event Highlights

Co-founder and CEO of Miss Jessie's Miko Branch teamed up with various bloggers for the launch of her new book, with her sister Titi Branch, Creating a Successful Business from Scratch-Naturally for a blogger tour. Each event would feature an intimate sit down with Miko giving a brief history of how Miss Jessie's came to be, how it was named, and how her and her sister took their destinies into their own hands to create one of the first natural hair care brands. In fact, Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding was the first curl creme ever created and the Stretch Silkening Creme was the first curl sufflee' ever created. With bragging rights like those, the Branch sisters have every right to help share their journey and expertise on how create a "Successful" business as they have with their products being sold in various stores nation wide as well as on various sites online.

The Hostesses

For the Atlanta, Georgia stop, the event was held on Sunday April 12th at Suite Lounge. The book signing and conversation with Miko Branch was hosted by Rita K.Davis of CocoaFab and Kiwi "The Beauty" in conversation with Denene Millner, author and editor in chief of MyBrownBaby.com The first 100 guests were to receive a Full size Baby Buttermilk compliments of Miko and I am so excited to give it a try. This will be the third product from the line I'm able to try as I recently purchased the Coily Custard and am in the process of testing it out. I wish I could test out more from the line, like the infamous curly pudding, but the way my budget is set up... lol y'all know the rest. To those who complain about the price, when you're the first and changed the game on natural hair products, you have that right to set your price-point/standards high.

Overview

Attendees were seated within 30 min of the
start time and those who chose to eat were able to order at that time. I think this was a great idea so that all orders could be placed prior to the conversation starting. Within an hour of the start time, the two hosts came out and welcomed everyone and had a little trivia for the audience for a chance to win a Miss Jessie's t-shirt. If you follow me on Instagrm @BesosFeron you know that I won a shirt! I was on it! After that, Miko was ready to come out and she sat down with Denene Millner and answered questions about the company, the book and had a touching yet emotional moment at the end speaking of her dear sister Titi who was there with us in spirit.

The conversation was concluded on a high note with Miko telling everyone that if they could do it, then so can we. After which, there was an opportunity to purchase the book as well as get it signed and have a picture taken with Miko Branch. I must say this was a very classy and engaging event and I am glad I went to it. Miko is so sweet, humble, poised, and down to earth. I love that she is empowering others to follow their dreams no matter what they maybe. I feel like there is room for everyone to be successful in whatever you are passionate about. Miko said it best, "Use your God given talents to focus on it, pay attention and tap into it, you'll get it."

I was nervous at first as I went alone but I left making a friend who has a small business of her own. Follow her business @curlgenetics on Instagram.
